To create this series of diptych posters, I illustrated and designed two posters that embody the words “question” and “answer”. The restrictions for this design challenge were very open, as the only requirements were that the posters must be vertically-oriented, of poster size, and feature the words “question” on one poster and “answer” on the other.

Inspired by contemporary Japanese graphic designers such as Shigeo Fukuda, this two-poster series uses vector illustration to create the image of a glass milk bottle. The posters live together as a call and response, as made aware by the imposed text on each illustration reading “question” and “answer.” The backwards sequence of a bottle of milk being spilled and then uprighted suggests a resolution of stressors, also highlighted by the phrase “don’t cry over spilled milk.” The limited color palette pays tribute to the process of early color printing.
